The estimator is responsible for calculating the total cost of a project including labour, trades, and material costs. This includes identifying and researching suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors, preparing and evaluating requests for quotations from suppliers and contractors/sub-contractors, checking estimates for accuracy, presenting the prepared estimate, and working with the design build and project management teams on budgeting and cost control.

Architectural Technologist

We are currently looking for talented individuals with residential drafting and design experience to join our design team as an architectural technologist. The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to; site measurements, permit drawings, residential drafting, and assisting senior designers with client meetings and presentations.

Architectural Technologist

OGC LTD specializes in complete home renovations, additions and custom home builds. As part of Canadian General Contractors Group we have offices in Vancouver, Calgary and Ottawa. We are currently looking for talented individuals with residential drafting and design experience to join our design team as an architectural technologist. The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to; site measurements, permit drawings, residential drafting, and assisting senior designers with client meetings and presentations.

The successful candidate will fulfill the following education, experience and skills requirements;

  • 3-5 years’ experience in residential design/drafting
  • Diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent in training or experience
  • Knowledge of Provincial Building Codes
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D rendering software
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Chief Architect is an asset
  • Strong technical knowledge of residential renovations and home construction
  • Time management and multitasking ability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, some sales or customer service experience would be considered an asset
  • Understanding the importance of deadlines and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
  • A valid driver’s license is a requirement

Material Selections Coordinator

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative material selections coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in sales and/or customer service and knowledge of material selection and interior design. Some knowledge of home renovation and the residential construction industry will be considered an asset.

The responsibilities of this role include assisting with scheduling and confirming client appointments, assisting clients in viewing and selecting materials for their home, adhering to construction deadlines, maintaining and organizing all material selections samples, ensuring the selections options are current, properly identified and accompanied by the relevant information and working with the designer to facilitate their implementation of the clients’ design choices.
